About GSNCDA
WELCOME TO THE SACRAMENTO INTERNATIONAL AUTO SHOW
On behalf of the Greater Sacramento New Car Dealers Association and our board of directors, I welcome you to the Sacramento International Auto Show.
As president of an association, comprised of the majority of the new-car dealerships in the Greater Sacramento area, I’m proud to be a part of one of the region’s largest fundraising events. To date, proceeds from the Sacramento International Auto Show have totaled over to 2 million dollars, with the biggest beneficiaries being automotive education and the children of our community.
Largely from the proceeds that this show generates, the Greater Sacramento New Car Dealer Association (GSNCDA) is able to fund scholarship programs benefitting 20 area high schools as well as American River, Cosumnes River and Sierra Community Colleges. The crown jewel of our efforts is the Professional Automotive Training Center, or PATC, a mobile automotive laboratory that has rejuvenated automotive education at the high school and community college level in this region.
Please stop by the PATC display and see why we take pride in sponsoring this training facility. Our support provides tomorrow’s automotive technicians with the special tools, advanced equipment, and training needed to keep the region’s driving public on the road and moving forward. The goal of the PATC and our association is to keep kids in high school, and provide them with automotive career training. The dismantling of high school automotive and shop programs has been an alarming trend in recent years, causing many students to drop out of school because the activities they enjoy and excel in are no longer offered.
But we don’t stop there. In addition to funding educational programs, our dealer members are the largest contributor of sales tax revenue in our cities and counties, which in turn funds vital services such as police and fire. Local dealerships are proud to provide employment to more than 7,000 hard-working men and women.
As an attendee of the Sacramento International Auto Show, you are also playing a part, as all revenues from the show go right back into the community. Some of the charities we have supported include Shriners Hospitals for Children, the Save the Pools Campaign, Pickett Fence Fund, Wounded Warrior program, the Elk Grove Food Locker, the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Children’s Therapy Center and many, many more. For that we thank you.
And let’s not forget the automobile manufacturers. Without their support we would not have the incredible displays and cars that help make the Sacramento International Auto Show such a success. We owe them a huge debt of gratitude for their continued involvement.
And so, on behalf of the Greater Sacramento New Car Dealer Association board of directors and all of our 100 members, I hope you enjoy your Auto Show experience this year and I look forward to seeing you at the show again next year.
